World Wrestling Entertainment's video game franchise releases a new game every year, but this years "WWE '13" is making new efforts to reach fans. The plan for the next installment in the wrestling videogame series is to recreate classic moments from the Attitude Era, a period in the late 90's and early 2000's featuring some of the most exciting and controversial moments.

The "WWE '13" release date is set for Oct 30 for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 according to the THQ, the game developers of the series. Ellen Lu, a social media coordinator for Blitz working with THQ said "One strength of the WWE Games franchise is the ability to relive and create impressive moves and moments."

One of the most important thing in making the game enjoyable is the lineup of wrestlers. The official "WWE '13" roster hasn't been released yet, but THQ has listed current superstars like CM Punk, The Miz, John Cena, Mark Henry, Chris Jericho and Sheamus as playable in the game.

Gamers wouldn't be able to relive Attitude Era moments without WWE Legends. So far the wrestlers from the past on the "WWE '13" roster are Mankind (Mick Foley), Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker and Mike Tyson.

Tyson made several appearances in WWE during the late 90's. The boxer was also inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame earlier this year.

Along with the roster reflecting both today and yesterday, the arenas available in the game cover the past and present as well. In a screen shot from the THQ website, Mark Henry is walking down the Attitude Era Survivor Series ramp in his retro attire.

Lu also gave some insight into the gameplay features of "WWE '13." The new WWE Live mode will go further in recreating the World Wrestling Entertainment experience with sound effects, commentary and crowd reaction.

The game will run on Predator Technology 2.0, an upgrade from the "WWE '12" Predator Technology from last year. Lu claims that it will make the game "smoother" and offers new animations.

The "WWE '13" trailer has a different tone than most of the promotions for the game, brandishing the slogan "Live the Revolution." Other trailers and ads for the game have focused on vintage aspects, but THQ and WWE seem to be working to make this a game for old and new fans all at once.

For long-time fans who aren't as interested in a game with CM Punk on the cover, the Austin 3:!6 Collectors Edition has been announced by THQ. The special edition has a "beer-truckload of goodies," like a Stone Cold foil packaging, an autographed Stone Cold collectors card, exclusive Steve Austin attire and entrance for the game, and a disc from "Stone Cold Steve Austin: The Bottom Line on the Most Popular Superstar of All Time" DVD, along with the game.

This year marks the first time that WWE has put so much effort into getting word out about the game. The cover was revealed on the May 28 episode of Monday Night RAW, with the company prompting viewers to pre-order the game five months before the release date.

Gamers who decide to pre-order the disc will get access to the CM Punk ice cream bar t-shirt. THQ reports that they will be offering the additional outfit for the Straight-Edge Superstar, as one of several alternative looks for in-game wrestlers.
