It is that time of the year again when American youngsters choose the destination for their undergraduate studies and The Daily Beast has come up with its latest rankings of top colleges that have the most high-stress environments.
The ranking is based on a range of factors that are most likely to contribute to the pressure scenario on campus; these are
A. Cost: Tuition plus room and board, weighted at 35 per cent, according to 2010-2011 data from the National Center on Education Statistics.
B. Academic Competitiveness: Once again with a weight of 35 per cent, based on 2011 data from the U.S. News and World Report
C. Acceptance rate: Carrying a weight of 10 per cent and taken from Fall 2010 enrolment data from the National Center on Education Statistics)
D. The rigor of the engineering program in the school as indicated by 2011 data from the U.S. News and World Report again
E. Campus Crime, as gauged by the publication's own analysis of data.
