The turkey may be the star of the show for Thanksgiving dinner, but with the perfect cocktail in hand, the bird could see itself upstaged as the best part of the meal.

Holidays certainly are more fun when there's some alcohol involved, and the perfect cocktail will be guaranteed to make your Thanksgiving better. Here are 18 awesome recipes to give a try this turkey day:

1. Angry Spiced Rum:

To create this delicious drink that's sure to get your Thanksgiving off to a festive start, combine 4 oz. Of Angry Orchard Hard Pear Cider, 1 oz. Spiced Rum, 0.5 oz. Lime Juice, 0.75 oz. Simple Syrup, and 1 tsp. Allspice Liqueur.

2. Apple Pie on the Rocks: Is it really possible to drink your apple pie? Yes—so long as it's in the form of this delicious cocktail.

Create a simply syrup by adding 1 cup of water to 1 cup of sugar to 1 tsp. Of Ground Cinnamon in a saucepan. Boil and steep, and then chill and serve. Then combine 2 oz. Rye Whiskey, 0.5 oz. Of the syrup, 0.5 oz. Sweet Vermouth, 3 dashes of Angostura Bitter and 3 dashes of Orange Bitters, stir and strain into either a martini glass or over fresh ice in a rocks glass; Garnish with a cinnamon stick and a long orange twist.

7. Hot Caramel Apple Cocktail: This drink will give you the same feelings as a warm slice of apple pie, but with the extra treat of rum and apple liqueurs.

8. Leftover Pecan Pie Bourbon Shake: This one may be best after the holiday ends, but if you're still feeling up to a delicious concoction after eating all that dinner and pie, try this one.

9. Maple Bourbon Cocktail: Maple and Bourbon make a perfect combo that just feels like the holidays, making this cocktail extra special.

To create this recipe from Liquid Lab NYC, Add 2.0 oz. Vodka, 2 scoops of Praline Ice Cream, either 0.5 oz. Of Orgeat Syrup or Amaretto, 0.5 oz. Maple Syrup and 3 Dashes of Bitters to a blender. Blend until smooth, and pour into a chilled Hurricane glass and Garnish with either Rosemary or Sage and Ground Pecans.

13. Pilgrim's Apple:

Combine 2 oz. Crown Royal Apple, 1 oz. DeKuyper Buttershots Liqueur, 1 oz. Dr. McGillicuddy's Raw Vanilla Liqueur, 1 oz. Apple Puree, and a splash of lime juice and simple syrup. Shake well with ice, serve in a Coupe glass and garnish with an apple slice.

14. Pumpkin Pie Martini:

Create a simply syrup by adding 1 cup of water to 1 cup of sugar to 1 tsp. Of Ground Pumpkin Pie Spice in a saucepan. Boil and steep, and then chill and serve. In one class, add 1 Egg White. Shake with 1 ice cube on its own to froth it and set aside. In a separate glass, add 2 oz. Spice Rum, 0.5 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice, 1.0 oz. Of Pineapple Juice and 0.5 oz. Of the Pumpkin Spice syrup. Combine those with the Egg White and shake vigorously. Strain over fresh ice or into a martini glass and garnish with a light dusting of nutmeg and an orange twist.
