Thursday's earthquake in Costa Rica left two girls death, according to local station Television Teletica.

The girls - 5 and 7 years old - died after an embankment fell near their house, the source reported.

The earthquake had a 6.2 magnitude and left several damages in windows and walls in San Jose and Alajuela cities. It is likely the worst in 30 years, AFP reported quoting witnesses.

The earthquake took place at 1:21 p.m. local time. It was centered 6.2 miles (10 Km) East from the Poas volcano in the Alajuela province located at the west of San Jose, Costa Rica.
