Two men who were flying in a small plane that crashed on Friday survived but sustained severe injuries.

The plane crashed into a parking lot near the Teterboro Airport, in New York City.

The men, George Maddox, 54 and Sanil Gopinath, 42 were found by emergency workers sitting at a nearby bus stop, the New York Daily News reports. One of them was the pilot of the plane, the other was the passenger.

Both men were taken to the burn unit at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey, according to the report.

The airplane is believed departed from the Teterboro Airport to deliver blood specimens to a laboratory near the airport called Quest Diagnostics, according to the report.
