2008 has been an excellent year for Mineweb both in respect of readership and revenues.  This left Mineweb comfortably ahead in readership terms of any directly competitive mining and mining investment sector website worldwide according to independent figures from Alexa.com which monitors international website performance.While Alexa samples site data for its comparative analysis, for its own data totals Mineweb utilises the services of independent monitoring service Clickstream, and this shows that year on year Mineweb's web traffic grew in terms of actual pages accessed by around 25 percent in 2008. This growth accelerated during the final quarter of the year.  Overall the Clickstream figures show that Mineweb's individual page readership accesses over the year totalled just short of 6 million!


In terms of unique readers, Mineweb's growth last year was even more impressive - up around 46 percent in total year on year, with the site averaging over 188,000 a month.

We have implemented some new news category sections over the year and we hope that readers will find these useful.  The archive search facility has also been improved, making the site even more useful to the mining and investment community.  We will be working on some other site additions and changes during the current year too to further enhance the site.Also, for those who like to try and beat the experts in forecasting, do enter our 2009 gold price prediction competition.  You will find entry details on the site (2009 Gold Price Competition), but you'll need to be quick to get your entry in as the competition will close shortly.
