The 2012 Golden Globes red carpet carried a bevy of Hollywood beauties flaunting some of the latest and greatest trends. Some popular looks included crimson and blush hues, mermaid skirts, glittering bodices, lace and metallic. In black-tie fashion, many ladies opted for clutches and Jimmy Choos. Glittering diamonds adorned ears, wrists and necks. Jessica Chastain was draped in over $1 million of Harry Winston jewels, including pearl and diamond earrings, a diamond feather ring, and a vintage diamond bracelet. I feel like I'm living the dream, the actress said.

As for hair and make-up, styles ran the gamut. Some ladies went with a sexy, casual vibe with voluminous loose waves. Others chose sleek buns and topped with hair accessories. Make-up ranged from bronzed to powdered, smokey to peachy, scarlet to gold.

Of course Angelina Jolie had the crowd drooling over her sleek bun and scarlet lips. Her smokey make-up made her blue eyes stand out against the red. Jolie's lipstick matched her dress and her clutch. Harper Bazaar's Derek Blasberg tweeted, I think Angelina Jolie just single handedly made it cool to match your bag and your lipstick to your dress again. A bold red lip is always a fantastic black-tie choice; and Jolie has a world-famous pout. Tom Ford's Cherry Lush lipstick will give you a satiny red look ($48).

Supermodel and Project Runway host Heidi Klum looked ravishing in a Calvin Klein gown and turquoise Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. I really wanted something with a super sexy, elegant silhouette. I went with a custom Calvin Klein Collection bisque silk crepe sheath dress with a plunging back and paired it with a gorgeous turquoise statement necklace from Lorraine Schwartz, Klum wrote on the AOL blog. Klum went with a fresh-faced look for the nice, which made her turquoise jewelry pop even more. Her platnium blonde hair was styled in a simple blow-out. Charlize Theron, in pink Dior, and Michelle Williams both sported headbands on the red carpet. Theron's accented a retro side-bun and Williams' topped her pixie cut. Both embodied schoolgirl chic. Get this look with Henri Bendel's Small Satin Bow Headband ($38).

Nicole Richie went with a bold, rocker ponytail made possible by long, silky extensions. Her bouffant 'do looked amazing with smokey eyes against her shimmering, silver Julien Macdonald dress. Richie carried a clutch from her line, House of Harlow. Richie will star in the upcoming NBC reality-contest series Fashion Show. Richie, who is a fashion mogul herself, is thrilled. She stars as a mentor alongside Jessica Simspon and Elle Macpherson. We are really like a big family. It's been a lot of fun.
