The second round of the 2012 John Deere Classic tees off on Friday from TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois, with Troy Matteson in the lead at (-10).

Matteson built his lead without playing particularly pretty. He led the tournament in sand saves and made most of his putts, and still birdied ten holes with 64 percent driving accuracy and one of the lowest average drives of the tournament.

Matteson only has two previous tour victories at the 2006 and 2009 Frys.com Open, now known as the Justin Timberlake Shriners Children's Hospital Open.

After one day, Ricky Barnes was in second, three back of Matteson at (-7). Seven golfers followed him with (-6) including K.J. Choi and three time defending tournament champion Steve Stricker.

The action gets underway before 9 a.m. ET today.
