Alabama has been the most dominant force in college football over the past four years, having won three BCS National Championships. In 2013, the Crimson Tide are expected to continue their recent success.

With just over a month to go before the start of the season, Alabama is the favorite to win the title in early 2014. Bovada.lv has given the defending champs 3/1 betting odds to win it all for the third straight year. With Nick Saban at the helm and AJ McCarron returning, as well as his top playmakers on offense, the Crimson Tide have a good chance to pull off a three-peat.

Oregon ended the 2012 season as the No.2 team in the country, according to the AP and Coaches poll. They handily defeated Kansas State in the Fiesta Bowl to secure a 12-1 record. Despite losing head coach Chip Kelly to the Philadelphia Eagles, the Ducks have the second-best title odds at 13/2. Oregon has been a model of consistency this decade, reaching a BCS bowl game in every year since 2010.

Ohio State and Texas A&M come in at third and fourth on the list. The Buckeyes have 7/1 betting odds in Urban Meyer’s first year of postseason eligibility with the team. A year after becoming the first freshman to win the Heisman Trophy, Johnny Manziel will look to lead the Aggies to a championship with 9/1 odds.

After reaching the title game last year, Notre Dame is no longer one of the favorites to become champs. They lost Manti Te’o to the NFL and have serious questions at some of the most important offensive positions.

The SEC dominates the top of the list. Five of the top eight teams are from the conference, and all have a chance to be in the top 10 when the preseason rankings are officially released. The SEC is the odds-on favorite to have the eventual national champion at -140.

Below are the national championship betting odds for the top 25 teams in the 2013 college football season. The SEC and Big 10 lead the way with five teams each.
