Missed the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) and wondering what everybody is chatting about on Twitter and Facebook? Not to worry. We have all of the show highlights right here. From performances to social media reactions, here’s your one-stop shop to catch up on all performances and buzz from Sunday night.

Lady Gaga - Applause

Lady Gaga was the opening act with this year’s VMAs hosted from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. Wearing a bizarre outfit that looks like something out of the video game “Katamari Damacy,” Lady Gaga eventually stripped into a seashell bikini outfit after changing into several more outfits during her performance.

Miley Cyrus – We Can’t Stop/ Blurred Lines/Give it 2 U (Medley)

If you’ve been following your social networking feeds on Facebook and Twitter, you’ve already seen some of the controversy regarding Miley Cyrus’ performance.

Comments flooded social network and social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Reddit. Cyrus stepped out of giant Monkey, wearing a bizarre outfit that resembled a Teddy Bear. To make things more awkward, Cyrus was seen twerking on Robin Thicke, as the audience, including Thicke’s wife, Paula Patton, looked on with mixed reactions.

One of the top comments by Reddit user Bobwhiz about the performance sums up a lot of public sentiment quite nicely,

“That awkward moment when "2Chainz" adds a measure of decorum and decency to your set.”

As for what older audiences might have been thinking, this Twitter user covers that as well:

Kanye West – Blood on the Leaves

West opened his performance to a dark stage, lit just enough to see his face in briefly. The rest of the performance was done in the dark, lit only enough to see his silhouette dancing during his performance.

Justin Timberlake – NSYNC (Medley)

If there was something that could make grown 20- and 30-year-olds revert back to their 12-year-old selves, it would have been this part of Justin Timberlake’s extensive performance at the VMAs. For a brief moment, fans of the pop group NSYNC got a chance to see them in all their glory.

Daft Punk featuring PharrellLose Yourself to Dance

Despite brief bad press regarding Daft Punk’s last minute canceled performance on “the Colbert Report,” the music duo were welcomed in open arms by the audience at the VMAs.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis – Same Love

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis took the stage with their hit song “Same Love.” Joined by Mary Lambert and Jennifer Hudson, the duo wowed crowds at the VMAs.

Drake – “Hold On We’re Going Home/Started From The Bottom (Medley)

Drake got intimate with the crowd at the VMAs with his medley performance of his hits “Hold On, We’re Going Home” and “Started From the Bottom.”

Throughout most of his performance, he sang alongside the audience, briefly taking the stage, only to find a corner to perform from while being surrounded by much of the audience.

Bruno Mars – Gorilla

Bruno Mars took to the stage with his live rendition of his song “Gorilla.”

Surrounded by flames and lasers, the performer left his mark on the audience with his impressive performance.

Katy Perry – Roar

Katy Perry took to the stage not in the Barclays Center, but right at the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge in a set that resembled a boxing ring. Crowds gathered for the “secret” performance after discovering its location in the DUMBO neighborhood of Brooklyn, N.Y.
