With the new season of 30 Rock just around the corner, NBC treated fans with a special preview video this week.

In season six, Liz Lemon (Tina Fey) and the gang are back from summer vacation, but don't expect the spectacled one to go back to her old ways.

Liz is completely re-energized, Fey says in the preview video.

The new Liz has a new attitude, new boyfriend (played by James Marsden) and a new word for her TGS crew.

I am headed home for a nooner, which is what I call, having pancakes for lunch, Liz says in the new season.

Meanwhile, Jack Donaghy (Alec Baldwin) is a single dad, as his baby mama Avery (Elizabeth Banks) continues life with her kidnapper, North Korean dictator Kim Jong-il. Jack also continues to confide in Kenneth (Jack McBrayer), who unwillingly shared a romantic dinner and evening with his boss at the end of season five.

Following last season's smorgasbord of guest stars, season six of 30 Rock will welcome the return of a few favorites (Kelsey Grammer, Will Arnett) and the arrival of some newbies (Denise Richards, Kristen Schaal).

Unfortunately for Carol fans, the preview video does not shed any light on the whereabouts of Liz's longtime on-and-off again pilot boyfriend, played by Matt Damon.

While 30 Rock has dipped in ratings in the last few seasons (season five averaged 5.3 million viewers per week, compared to season three's 7.5 million), the show has held strong at major award shows, including the Primetime Emmys, Screen Actors Guild, Writers Guild and Television Critics Association (TCA).

On Thursday, Fey and Baldwin each received a Golden Globe Award nomination (the show's only nods this year) for their work on season five.

Season six of 30 Rock premieres on NBC on Jan. 12. Scroll down for a preview.
