Diversified manufacturer 3M Co said on Friday that two of its products that are the subject of a patent fight with medical filter maker Pall Corp are no longer on the market.

Pall in a statement on Thursday said that U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York issued a favorable ruling in a long-running patent infringement lawsuit regarding the 3M Cuno Polypro XL and Cuno Life Assure filters.

3M acquired Cuno in 2005.

The filters that were accused of infringement in 2004 were (designed) before the 3M acquisition, said 3M spokeswoman Jacqueline Berry. The current filter designs, the Polypro Xl and the Life Assure are not accused of infringement, so there are no Cuno products that are at risk of an injunction. And our position in this case has been that the two patents at issue are invalid.

Pall said it is seeking compensatory damages and a permanent injunction against the sale of the infringing products.
