4 Adults Found Shot Dead In Ohio Basement; Victims Ronald Roberts, Maria Nash, Kem Delaney And Kiana ‘Kiki’ Welsh

Authorities were baffled Thursday after finding four adults shot to death in an Ohio basement.

Police reported that the four individuals were found dead from gunshot wounds to the head. The deceased were uncovered at a townhome complex on the northeast side of Akron, Ohio, ABC News reported.

NBC reported the victims' Friday as Ronald Roberts, 24; Maria Nash, 19; Kem Delaney, 23; and Kiana "Kiki" Welch. Welch’s age wasn't provided, but police said all four victims appeared to be in their early 20s.

Robert’s grandfather, Deon Walters, confirmed that his grandson was dating Welch at the time of his death, WAFB reported.

NBC reported that authorities are saying the foursome appeared to be shot execution style.

“My thoughts are that my son wouldn’t have hurt anyone,” Roberts' mother, identified only by the last name Robert-Gilbert, said. “He would have given you the shirt off his back, and whoever did this needs to be found and held responsible.”

Authorities have been canvassing the surrounding area searching for shell cases and speaking to potential witnesses but have reported no further leads.

WAFB reported that the deceased were uncovered after an unidentified neighbor alerted local police about the homicides. The Akron Police Department said that the building was locked and there were no signs of forced entry where the victims were located. The bodies had been sitting for less than a week before the call was received.

“Now, I have a 24-year-old son to put away, for what? Can you please tell me why?” Roberts-Gilbert said.

One unidentified male family member claiming to be a sibling of one of the deceased males shared his grief Friday.

“My brother was a good kid. ... He ain’t deserve to get killed like that. Whoever did it, I hope you turn yourself in or get found," he said.

Friends and family of Nash took to her Facebook page Friday to express their grief.

“I miss you, Maria. Watch over us,” commenter Angela Brandt said on Nash's page.

Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority Executive Director Tony O’Leary said the area, located 35 miles outside of Cleveland, doesn’t have an extensive crime history.
