Four persons died after a small plane crashed in a field near Crystal Lake in McHenry County Saturday.

Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Elizabeth Isham Cory said that the plane was a Cirrus-SR2, registered to the Marion Flying Club in Marion, Ind.

Cory said that National Transportation Safety Board was leading the investigation and further information about the crash would come from the local coroner's office.

The names of the passengers were not available.
