A party celebrating the release of Notorious, a biopic of rapper Biggie Smalls ended with four people being stabbed, while a moviegoer was shot at the movie premiere.

Police said Saturday a 21-year-old victim stabbed numerous times at the Djumbala night club in New York City. He was in critical condition at Brookdale Hospital. Three other who were stabbed were in stable condition, Associated Press reported.

Separately, police said someone was shot in the stomach after an argument on opening night of the movie Notorious B.I.G at the Grande 18 at Four Seasons Station in Greensboro, according to local news in Carolina, News 14.

“I don’t think it has anything related to the actual – with Biggie being shot and that whole thing. I think it was just people out and they act stupid and I don’t think it was anything related to the actual movie,” moviegoer Lisa Chandler said.

“I think its coincidence. I think it gives Greensboro a bad rap and it looks like more than that, but I think when you have a large group of people that are together like that, I don’t think it had anything to do with the movie,” she added.

It is not known if the shooting and stabbings were related to the movie or not.

The movie features the life of Notorious B.I.G. who was born Christopher Wallace. He was killed in Los Angeles in 1997.
