Following the resignation of Charlie Hunnam from his lead role in the “Fifty Shades of Grey” film, the Web is buzzing with rumors that the movie's other lead, actress Dakota Johnson, may also leave. While the 24-year-old actress has yet to comment on her co-star's departure, fans of the erotica book-turned-feature film are already questioning whether she will part ways with the E.L. James series. Here are five reasons why actress Dakota Johnson may follow in Hunnam’s footsteps and quit her role as Anastasia Steele in “Fifty Shades of Grey”:

THE PERILS OF FAME

While multiple reports claim Hunnam left the film due to his inability to cope with his recent fame, Johnson is also reportedly struggling with her newfound celebrity status. “Dakota is having a very hard time dealing with all the press,” a source told E! News Monday, adding, “When she first got the role, it was way too much for her… It’s been tough.”

FANS ARE PLEADING FOR HER TO BE REPLACED

Fear makes people do crazy things, and according to a report from The Hollywood Gossip Tuesday, Johnson is nervous she may lose her leading role in the highly anticipated flick. Despite pleas from some fans to replace Johnson following Hunnam’s departure from the series, one source claims the former “Ben and Kate” sitcom star has nothing to fear. “Dakota earned the role and she shouldn’t be worried right now,” said the insider.

CHANGE IN FILMING SCHEDULE

Hunnam's departure may have put a serious kink in the filming schedule. According to the Hollywood Reporter, “Fifty Shades of Grey” was set to begin filming in Vancouver Nov. 1 after Hunnam’s TV series, “Sons of Anarchy,” wraps later this month. While Johnson’s IMDB page only confirms the Texas native is currently filming the Shakespearean drama “Cymbeline” with no other projects in the lineup, the possible bump in the schedule could cause an issue for her. (The film is currently scheduled for an Aug. 1, 2014, release).

LACK OF CHEMISTRY WITH NEW CO-STAR

The actress is reportedly concerned filmmakers will cast an actor with whom she has no on-screen chemistry (an issue she reportedly didn’t have with Hunnam). “The only time she will have to worry, if at all, is if they hire someone that has no chemistry with her,” a source told The Hollywood Gossip, adding, “But they are casting the actor with her in mind.”

HER BOYFRIEND, JORDAN MASTERSON

Prior to Hunnam’s resignation, reportedly over his concern about being typecast and inability to prep for the role because of his “immersive TV schedule,” reports surfaced that Johnson’s longtime boyfriend, actor Jordan Masterson, was unhappy with her leading role in the erotic film. According to a report from Entertainmentwise last month, the “40-Year-Old Virgin“ star is “anxious” and “concerned” about the sexual nature of the film. “Jordan is delighted for Dakota in terms of her career,” an insider revealed, adding, “but he’s nervous about all the sex involved in the role.”
