When news broke in September that actor Charlie Hunnam would take on the role of Christian Grey in the “Fifty Shades of Grey” film, some fans revolted against that casting decision. And they must have been happy when the “Sons of Anarchy” TV star later decided to quit the film due to his “immersive” filming schedule. Among those not sorry to see him opt out was the wife of “Fifty Shades” producer Michael De Luca, Angelique De Luca, who recently unleashed her true feelings regarding Hunnam playing the sexually sadistic, Seattle billionaire.

A self-professed fan of the erotic book series the film is based on, De Luca hasn’t kept quiet regarding the casting process. To be honest, to me, [Charlie] wasn't a great fit,” said De Luca on Twitter Oct. 12, following fansite comments that they were sad to hear Hunnam had quit. When prompted to explain, De Luca said, “He didn't have that CG [Christian Grey] demeanor inside or outside. CG exudes a certain sexual intensity that comes from his eyes. I just feel like that actor has to make us all feel it and it wasn't going to come from [Charlie Hunnam].”

While Hunnam may have not had a fan in De Luca, an entrepreneur and philanthropist, she has stated her public approval for the film’s new lead, “Once Upon a Time” star Jamie Dornan. “My wish came true! I'm proud & beyond hot for my new boyfriend (yes Mike knows ;) @JamieDornan1 to be CG!!” she posted on Twitter on Oct. 24, also calling the native Irish actor “very talented.”

On Friday, “Fifty Shades of Grey” author E.L. James announced on Twitter that “True Blood" actor Luke Grimes would be joining Dornan and his on-screen lover, actress Dakota Johnson, in the film. According to one of De Luca’s most recent social media posts, she is pleased with her husband’s decision to cast Grimes in the film as Christian Grey’s adoptive brother, Elliot Grey. “Have you seen the Grey brother? They look great, don’t they?” Twitter user @lilcaribou asked De Luca Friday, to which she replied, saying, “I totally agree!”

Due to the recent casting shake-up, the filming schedule for “Fifty Shades of Grey” has been moved from its original start date of Nov. 1 to Dec. 2, according to a report from the Hollywood Reporter Monday. It has yet to be confirmed if the film will still premiere on its original release date of Aug. 1, 2014.
