With just three short weeks before the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie is scheduled to begin filming in Vancouver, Universal Pictures has yet to announce who will take on the key role of Mrs. Robinson, also known as Elena Lincoln, in the erotica book trilogy-turned-feature film. Which lucky actress will win the coveted role of lead Christian Grey’s BDSM teacher-turned-business partner? Here are the top three rumored candidates:

ROSE McGOWAN

Actress Rose McGowan joins the list as the most recently rumored potential cast member. The 40-year-old former “Charmed" star made it public knowledge that she met with “Fifty Shades of Grey” author E.L. James Thursday. James, 50, also shared news of their time together on her Twitter account. While the duo never confirmed that McGowan was offered the seductress role, fans are already buzzing that she may be the future Mrs. Robinson.

The most vocal about wanting to secure the role (according to the National Enquirer), Katie Holmes is reportedly already preparing to portray the siren on screen. According to the report, the 34-year-old “Batman Begins“ actress and former Mrs. Tom Cruise is hoping the risque role will “give her the push” she needs to become a Hollywood A-lister. “She’s looking at this as the role of a lifetime for her,” said a source, adding, “It will shock a lot of people, but she thinks Hollywood would sit up and take notice.” While filmmakers have yet to confirm Holmes will star in the film, she is already reportedly prepping for the role by spending extra hours at the gym to “tone herself up for the part.”

The only confirmation we have that “True Blood” star Kristin Bauer van Straten may be playing Mrs. Robinson is her announcement regarding her desire to star in the film during her 2013 New York Comic Con apperance in October. During a Q&A portion of the panel event, the 46-year-old TV star divulged she would consider playing the sexually adventurous businesswoman after fans told her she would be the “perfect” Mrs. Robinson. According to a report from IBTimes, the actress was “flattered” by her fan’s support to see her in the role and even jokingly dished that she would be open to “having sex” with James to secure the part.
