Jamie Dornan has finally found his onscreen bodyguard in actor Max Martini.

With just weeks until the “Fifty Shades of Grey” film adaption is set to move into production in Vancouver, Universal Studios and Focus Features announced Tuesday that 43-year-old actor Max Martini will star in the erotic flick as Jason Taylor, Christian Grey’s loyal bodyguard. While not a big name, nor a leading role in the adapted E.L. James flick, Martini is best known for starring alongside former “Fifty Shades of Grey” lead Charlie Hunnam in the 2013 action-adventure flick “Pacific Rim,” according to ComingSoon.net.

According to the official “Fifty Shades of Grey” Wiki page, the character of Jason Taylor, referred to mostly as just Taylor in the book trilogy, is BDSM-obsessed billionaire Christian Grey’s (Jamie Dornan) right-hand man and lead security officer. A former member of the military, Taylor is frequently described as being a tall, musucular man in his late 30s. In the books (spoiler alert), Taylor’s plot lines consist of protecting Grey and his lover, Anastasia Steele, from various personalities. At the end of the series, Taylor’s character settles down with Grey’s fellow employee, his longtime housekeeper and chef, Gail Jones.

News of Martini’s casting comes just two days after actress Eloise Mumford was cast as Kate Kavanagh in the film. In recent weeks, actor Luke Grimes was chosen to play the role of Elliot Grey, Christian’s brother. The film’s leads are former “Ben and Kate” sitcom actress Dakota Johnson and “Once Upon a Time” TV star Jamie Dornan.

“Fifty Shades of Grey” is currently scheduled for a February 2015 release.
