Christchurch, New Zealand's second-largest city was hit today by a 5.8 earthquake magnitude, and then a series of aftershocks shortly before 2 p.m. today started to hit the city as well.

Plenty of damages were reported and the city's airport was evacuated, also the stuff.co.nz's website announced that No injuries were reported till now.

The New Zealand dollar fell to 77.30 U.S. from 77.53 cents directly before the earthquake.
