Thor Ragnarok Trailer
The new “Thor: Ragnarok” trailer showed Thor (Chris Hemsworth) being sent to fight the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). Marvel

“Thor: Ragnarok” fans finally have their first look at footage from the Marvel Studios film. The space adventure follows Thor as he goes up against the villainous Hela and ends up a gladiator on another planet with Hulk. The trailer gives audiences plenty to get excited about, but the casual viewers may have missed a few things.

New York — We know Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) meets up with Thor (Chris Hemsworth) in New York, but we don’t actually get to see the Sorcerer Supreme. However, it seems like the trailer shows his hometown around the 20-second mark. It looks like that’s where Hela (Cate Blanchett) destroys Thor’s hammer, Mjölnir. Those graffiti covered walls certainly aren’t Asgardian.

Sakkar — Also known as Planet Hulk, it seems “Thor: Ragnarok” is staying faithful to the planet’s reputation as an intergalactic lost and found. At the 40-second mark, viewers see what Sakaar is really known as: a wasteland of androids and other technology. The wormholes (which are likely those blue-ish portals in the sky) drop off plenty of trash on the planet. It seems that’s also the way Thor comes through.

Valkyrie is Pulling Thor — Though reports have indicated she’s on Thor’s side, Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) doesn’t seem like much of an ally. She’s the one dragging him along in the net at the 46-second mark and she delivers him to the Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum).

Hela’s Attack — In what could be a flashback to Hela’s early days at the 47-second mark, the Goddess of Death is almost unrecognizable in her traditional costume (complete with an elaborate headpiece), and warriors on what appear to be Pegasuses (winged horses) seem to be attacking her.

Loki’s Helmet — If you’re keeping up with Loki’s (Tom Hiddleston) fashion choices, you’ll want to note that the God of Mischief has ditched his helmet. His signature horns are now displayed on a mask that covers the edges of his face, seen at 1:07.

Loki’s Watching — Thor is being forced into the ring, and it’s not just Valkyrie and Grandmaster behind his new career. Loki is seen watching from a luxury box for just a second at 1:36 as Thor meets Hulk in the ring.

Fans will note that two important people from Thor’s life were missing. Jane (Natalie Portman), his longtime girlfriend, will not be in the movie. It seems they broke up. However, his father Odin (Anthony Hopkins) is a big plot point in the movie but mysteriously missing from the teaser video. Thor will be looking for his dad when he gets sent to Sakaar.

“Thor: Ragnarok” hits theaters Nov. 3, 2017.
