And so, the console war continues.

Microsoft just sold its 2 millionth Xbox One, about seven or eight days behind Sony’s PlayStation4. The companies are no doubt pleased with these numbers, though neither is “winning the war” just yet. Sony was quick to both million marks, but their system is $100 cheaper than Microsoft’s. The marathon has only begun, and both consoles will see stiff competition from Nintendo’s 2014 game lineup, thanks to titles like Mario Kart 8 and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze.

Sticking with video games, game developer Rovio, best known for their “Angry Birds” line of mobile games, has deviated from their tried and true path. Instead of another iteration of slingshotting Beanie Baby-shaped birds, Rovio’s new title is a 3D racing game featuring both the birds and pigs from their main titles. The game is free to download on all mobile platforms; Rovio hopes to make more off of in-game transactions.

Speaking of mobile platforms, Nokia’s got something cooking - a Droid. It’s a standout among the brand’s smartphone lineup, which is all powered by Windows Mobile. Nokia sources have stated that the phone (codenamed “Normandy”) will be released in 2014 as a lower-end phone like the Moto G, despite Microsoft’s attempts to acquire Nokia.
