Oh, Hollywood celebrities... their lifestyles are just as wild as their eating habits. And, all of us who closely follow their lives in the pages of Us Magazine and TMZ are just as wacky, especially when we copy their dieting practices.

Recently, Yahoo! Shine asked the health experts at Mayo Clinic to evaluate seven fad celebrity diets. Here is the skinny on everything from baby food to eating nothing but purple-colored foods.

The Cooler Cleanse

  • Rumored to be followed by: Salma Hayek
  • Description: A three- or five-day juice detox diet where you replace meals and snacks with Cooler Cleanse juices that are delivered fresh to your door. Hayek is one of the co-creators of the Cooler Cleanse and swears by it as a way to keep her looking young, svelte and beautiful.
  • Benefits: Quick and short-term weight loss; Promotes a feeling of lightness; Contains healthy and natural ingredients; Liberates you from eating processed and refined foods, even if just for a few days.
  • Cost: $58 per day

The Purple Diet

  • Rumored to be followed by: Mariah Carey
  • Description: Not to be confused with the Hollywood Miracle Diet, which is also referred to as the Purple Diet, this Purple Diet allows you to eat nothing but purple-hued natural foods for three days. Here's why: Purple foods like red grapes, plums and eggplant contain the antioxidant resveratrol, which is supposed to be a wonderful anti-aging nutrient. So rather than promoting weight loss, The Purple Diet promotes youth.
  • Benefits: Quick and short-term weight loss; Promotes eating nutrient-rich foods; Earth-friendly diet.
  • Cost: Expense of purple foods

The Baby Food Diet

  • Rumored to be followed by: Reese Witherspoon
  • Description: Consume nothing but jars of baby food or DIY pureed fruits and veggies as a way to give your body a break from digesting chewable food.
  • Benefits: Quick and short-term weight loss; Promotes eating lots of fruits and veggies; May inspire a sudden yearning for teething biscuits and frequent napping.
  • Cost: Expense of baby food jars or fruits and vegetables if you are making your own neonate concoctions.

The Coconut Diet

  • Rumored to be followed by: Jennifer Aniston
  • Description: Add small amounts of coconut milk, oil, meat and clear coconut water to your daily diet. The belief is that the saturated fat found in coconuts might spur weight loss.
  • Benefits: Coconut water (not milk) is a low-calorie and electrolyte-packed beverage; Coconut oil and meat is a natural, albeit saturated fat.
  • Cost: Coconut water runs $2 per 11 ounces. Coconut meat, oil and milk vary in cost.

Master Cleanse

  • Rumored to be followed by: Beyonce, Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher
  • Description: Also known as the Maple Syrup Diet or the Lemonade Diet, sip an elixir of filtered water, maple syrup, lemon juice and cayenne pepper in order to melt fat, detoxify and test your will power for 7 to 12 days.
  • Benefits: Quick and short-term weight loss.
  • Cost: DIY Master Cleanse is much less expensive than store-bought programs, which can run anywhere from $10 to $30.

Macrobiotic Diet

  • Rumored to be followed by: Gwyneth Paltrow and Madonna
  • Description: A style of eating that means large (macro), life (bio), the Macrobiotic Diet, combines natural foods to compliment their tastes and flavors, and also to support how your body assimilates them. Brown rice, steamed vegetables, adzuki beans, whole grains, sea vegetables, fermented foods are staples and refined and processed foods are off-limits.
  • Benefits: Promotes a healthy plant-based diet; May result in weight loss.
  • Cost: Cost of food

The Raw Food Diet

  • Rumored to be followed by: Angela Bassett, Demi Moore, Woody Harrelson
  • Description: Commit to eating 75 percent of your food in its raw state as cooking destroys the enzymes in the food that your body needs to properly absorb and utilize them. Think tons of fresh vegetables and fruits, nuts and seeds and sprouted grains.
  • Benefits: Exceptionally nutrient-rich; May result in weight loss; Fresh is always better than processed; Very Earth-friendly; Quantity and quality are enforced.
  • Cost: Expense of food
