The owners of the Philadelphia 76ers are negotiating with an investment group to sell them the NBA team.

Comcast-Spectacor, the current owner, owns and manages the Wells Fargo Center, where the Flyers and the 76ers play, as well as Comcast SportsNet, a group of regional sports broadcasting networks. The potential buyer is a group headed by financier Joshua Harris, and Sacramento Kings executive Jason Levien.

ESPN reports that the pending deal would have Comcast-Spectacor retain the Wells Fargo Center with the Sixers remaining as tenants.

The basketball team was up for sale in 2006, but Comcast-Spectacor pulled Sixers off the market despite receiving eight bids. The company bought the 76ers on April 24, 1996, for $130 million.
