Fox’s new series “9-1-1” won’t go slow in delivering heart-breaking drama even though this week’s installment is the show’s Valentine’s special. From the looks of things, Buck (Oliver Stark) has a life-or-death experience in episode 6 and this is bound to play out right in front of Abby (Connie Britton).

According to the synopsis for “9-1-1” Season 1, episode 6, titled “Heartbreaker,” Valentine’s Day is coming to the show early this week, especially for Buck and Abby who may have developed a connection during last week’s episode. The pair go out and enjoy their first official date. Since Ryan Murphy, Tim Minear and Brad Falchuk designed the series to be a hard-hitting procedural, fans shouldn’t expect for their date night to go on smoothly.

A sneak peek at episode 6 shows Abby and Buck arriving at a fancy restaurant to celebrate the day of love. “I love Valentine’s Day,” Abby says in the clip as Buck gives her an intense look from the other side of the table. “It’s the only day of the year that we can allow ourselves to be in love,” the 9-1-1 dispatcher continues via a voiceover.

Unfortunately, things quickly turn for the worse the moment Buck takes a bite of the sandwich that was served to them. He is seen in promo clip (found below) chocking and struggling to breathe, while Abbie hurries to his side. Then Buck is seen laying flat on the ground as Abbie performs a CPR on him.

While the teaser trailer does seem very alarming to fans, especially to those who like Buck and Abby’s budding romance, there’s really nothing to worry about. Stark is confirmed to appear in all 13 episodes this season, so it’s safe to say that he’ll survive this life-or-death situation this week. Besides, Stark himself confirmed during the “After Show” of last week’s episode that he is looking forward to where Buck and Abby’s potential romance could be heading on the show.

Meanwhile, during his interview with TV Line last week, Stark confessed that he is “personally OK if it doesn’t turn into something romantic.” The 26-year-old actor also admitted that episode 5 was the first time for him to shoot a scene with Britton, who is almost twice his age. He shared that he’s nervous to shoot scenes with the veteran actress.

Apart from Buck and Abby’s emergency situation, the highlight of episode 6 is a case that involves a couple. Both the synopsis and the sneak peek indicate that a woman loses her temper when her boyfriend stages a surprise marriage proposal. The synopsis mentions “dangerous” consequences, but the word does not really cover it as seen in the teaser clip. Athena (Angela Bassett) has the unfortunate task to respond to the couple’s quarrel, and she quickly realizes that the situation has already gone bloody before she could stop it.

“9-1-1” episode 6 airs Wednesday, Feb. 7, at 9 p.m. on Fox.
