98 Degrees fans hoping for a reunion tour this summer will be disappointed to hear that the rumors are actually untrue.

Two weeks after news broke of the boy band's first tour in a decade, Nick Lachey has stepped in to clear the air.

So psyched to see all the excitement for a 98 degree tour, but the only tour I'll be doing this summer is at baby's 'r us! #neversaynever, the 38-year-old wrote on Twitter Thursday.

Lachey, of course, is referring to his bundle-of-joy to be. The singer and his wife of nearly one year, Vanessa Minnillo, are expecting their first child together.

I've had a chance to do a lot of great things in my career and my life but this is the one thing that, more than any other, I look forward to. The fact that it's actually here, it's overwhelming, Lachey said on Live! with Kelly in early March.

So what about the tour rumor that started it all?

RumorFix reported on Mar. 28 that sources close to the band had confirmed a 15-city tour between July and August, reuniting what was perhaps the third most popular boy band during the late '90s, right behind Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC.

98 Degrees, made up of Lachey, his brother Drew, Justin Jeffre and Jeff Timmons, first landed on the boy band/pop music scene in 1997, with the release of their debut single Invisible Man.

The quartet went on to release more hits, including Because of You, The Hardest Thing and I Do (Cherish You), a total of five studio albums, including a holiday album called This Christmas. To date, the group has sold more than 10 million records worldwide.

In 2002, 98 Degrees released The Collection, a compilation of the group's biggest hits.

While each member has taken on other projects over the last decade, Nick Lachey has received by far the most attention in the celebrity headline world, mainly thanks to his high profile marriage to Jessica Simpson, their reality TV show Newlyweds (chicken, or fish?) and their divorce in 2005.

If the reunion tour rumor had been true, 98 Degrees would have joined a strong group of '90s boy bands that are still going at it. New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys are currently on a world tour under their super group name, NKOTBSB. Boyzone, the Irish equivalent, are rumored to be planning a 2013 world tour.

Even MTV fake boy band 2gether, which is also the name of the TV movie and series the group starred in, recently announced a reunion concert, set for next month.

But 98 Degrees fans shouldn't give up hope just yet. As Lachey wrote in his tweet Wednesday, #neveresaynever. (Just, not this summer).

For now, 98 Degrees fans, here's a trip down memory lane.
