Oakland Athletics starting pitcher Trevor Cahill took his first loss of the season to the Chicago White Sox 4-3, after committing a throwing error in a pivotal seventh inning.

Down by only one run in the seventh, Cahill threw wide of first base on Omar Vizquel's sacrifice bunt, allowing Armando Rios to score. Vizquel eventually scored what proved to be the winning run on an RBI single by Alexei Ramirez.

The White Sox, who also scored four runs off Cahill in April, are the only team that has scored more than one run off Cahill all season.

A's outfielder Coco Crisp homered in the fifth and infielder Daric Barton hit a two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the seventh, but Oakland's rally in the ninth fell short.

Oakland, losers of two out of three games against Chicago, will now host a two-game set against the Los Angeles Angels beginning Monday.
