The Oakland Athletics beat the Chicago White Sox 6-2, on an unforgettable day for A's outfielder David DeJesus, who hit a two-run triple for his 1000th career hit.

A's starting pitcher Tyson Ross, who went 7 1/3 innings, shut out Chicago for five innings, until allowing a two-run homer in the sixth by Paul Konerko for Chicago's only runs of the game.

Oakland's Coco Crisp, Josh Willingham, and Kurt Suzuki each had two hits for the game, while reliever Grant Balfour came out of the bullpen to shut down the Chicago batters for 1 2/3 innings.
