In the weeks since 27-year-old Aaron Hernandez committed suicide in his Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center cell in Shirley, Massachusetts, more information has surfaced about the former New England Patriots player's life behind bars. Following the news that Hernandez was affiliated with the Bloods street gang, a new report reveals that he had a record of more than 70 disciplinary offenses in less than two years at the maximum-security prison.

According to records obtained by USA Today and published Wednesday, the majority of his disciplinary infractions occurred during his first few months at Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center. Hernandez, who was serving a life sentence for the murder of Odin Lloyd, was cited 78 times relating to 12 incidents in less than two years at the prison. At one point, he was cited 25 times over an eight-day period shortly after beginning his life sentence for murder in May 2015.

“You ain’t got (expletive) on me (expletive),” Hernandez reportedly told corrections officers after his first prison fight, according to USA Today. “You just making up (expletive).”

After being examined by medical staff, Hernandez was reportedly put in restrictive confinement, where he continued to yell, “I’ll run this place and keep running (expletive). Prison ain't (expletive) to me.”

“At the disciplinary hearings that followed, Hernandez either pled guilty or was found guilty by a hearing officer of 14 charges,” USA Today reported. “ None of the incidents were forwarded to prosecutors.”

According to the report, Hernandez also served as a lookout at the prison, engaged in fights, stole another inmate’s calling card and was discovered to be in possession of a nearly six-inch shank fashioned out of a piece of metal. For the last infraction, he reportedly received the maximum 15 days in solitary confinement and was cut off from accessing the prison’s commissary — or general store — for 90 days.

Hernandez hanged himself from his prison cell window using a bedsheet and was discovered during the early hours of April 19. Just days prior, Hernandez was acquitted of murdering Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado outside a Boston nightclub in July 2012. He is survived by his fiancée, Shayanna Jenkins, and their 4-year-old daughter Avielle.
