Aaron Hernandez is currently in prison, awaiting trial for the murder of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd. Since being arrested, though, the ex-NFL star has gotten himself into even more trouble.

Last month, Hernandez was involved in a fight with another inmate. According to TMZ, he attacked the prisoner, who was in handcuffs at the time of the altercation. Now, the man who got into the tussle with Hernandez has been released from jail.

Andrew Booker has been identified as the man who had the confrontation with Hernandez. The 25-year-old was reportedly arrested in September, having been found with 16 bags of cocaine and a loaded firearm. TMZ reports that the fight stemmed from a verbal feud between the two men.

In addition to the first-degree murder and weapons charges that Hernandez already faces, the former New England Patriots tight end is looking at an assault and battery charge. However, Booker has no interest in helping authorities convict the man who beat him. Booker’s lawyer, Michael Maloney, tells the Sun Chronicle that his client will not testify against Hernandez.

"He doesn’t want to go after Hernandez,” said Maloney. “He doesn't want to be a rat.”

While he may not care about punishing Hernandez, Booker is considering going after the authorities involved. There’s a chance Booker will press charges against the Bristol County Sheriff’s Department. He was punched repeatedly, even though Hernandez’s celebrity status is supposed to keep him away from other inmates.

"He’s really disturbed he was allowed to be put in that situation," Maloney continued.

Booker was released on $7,500 bail. He’s being represented by the same lawyer for Carlos Ortiz, who has been charged as an accessory to the murder of Lloyd.
