Adele opened up about her recent weight loss, revealing in a new interview that she wanted to slim down in order to have more stamina during her tours. Lately, the 27-year-old singer has been making headlines for her slimmer physique, and she often documents her fitness regimen on social media.

"I was trying to get stamina for my tour, so I lost a bit of weight," Adele explained to Vogue for their March cover story. "Now I fit into normal, off-the-shelf clothes."

The mother of one joked that her new slimmer physique also sparked a newfound shopping habit. "[It's] really a big problem for me," she said.

"I like myself more than ever," Adele continued. "I feel so comfortable in my own skin. I really like how I look, I like who I am, I like everyone that I surround myself with. Obviously, I have insecurities but they don't hold me back."

According to Vogue, Adele credits some of her weight loss with cutting out certain foods and beverages in order to protect her throat. She also cut back on the amount of alcohol she drinks and completely gave up smoking cigarettes.

In December, Adele told The Mirror (via British magazine Look) that she was gave up her smoking habit because she feared it would kill her. The "When We Were Young" singer told the outlet that she if she continued to smoke as much as she did she would have "probably died from a smoking-related illness."

"If I was dying from lung cancer I would have potentially given it to myself and that wouldn't be something I'd be proud of," she said.

In her interview with Vogue, Adele also gushed about her three-year-old son Angelo, whom she shares with boyfriend Simon Konecki, telling the publication that the little boy makes her "very proud" of herself.

“When I became a parent, I felt like I was truly living. I had a purpose, where before I didn’t,” she said. “My main thing in life is [mom], then it’s me, then it’s work.”
