Adrienne Bailon didn’t let a little controversy dampen her vacation. The former Cheetah Girl soaked up the sun with her new beau, Grammy-winning Christian music artist Israel Houghton, at Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa in Tulum, Mexico. The only problem is that some people insinuated she’s the reason Houghton’s 20-year marriage to Meleasa Houghton failed.

Instead of letting the naysayers affect them, Bailon, 32, and Houghton, 44, spent a week in Tulum, where they basked in the sun, relaxed at the spa and enjoyed a tequila tasting, Us Weekly wrote in an exclusive report Tuesday.

There were also rumors the new couple was engaged after they were spotted with matching bands on their ring fingers, but they remain just boyfriend and girlfriend. It’s nothing more than a coincidence. “[They] just have the same rings from Cartier that they bought separately,” an insider told Us Weekly in an exclusive report. “They normally hang out in group circles but over spring break decided to take a trip alone together for the first time.”

Though Bailon didn’t seem fazed by rumors she caused Houghton’s marriage to end, since she didn’t post about it on social media, the singer took to his official Facebook page to set the record straight. “It deeply saddens me that an innocent party would be dragged into this situation that I have taken personal responsibility for,” Houghton wrote. “Adrienne is a woman of integrity and character. Most of all she is a true friend, and she should not be blamed for my past indiscretions.”

Houghton and Bailon met on the set of the 2013 film “I’m in Love With a Church Girl,” in which she starred and he served as executive producer. Their relationship didn’t become romantic until Houghton ended his marriage to Meleasa, he claimed.
