“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Season 2 will further explore Skye’s (Chloe Bennet) powers in episode 13. Coulson (Clark Gregg) and the team have realized that her emotions are connected to her powers, so May (Ming-Na Wen) calls in a specialist -- who just happens to be her ex-husband, according to the synopsis.

Dr. Andrew Garner (Blair Underwood) is brought in when a crisis "threatens to tear the team apart,” the synopsis teases. However, Entertainment Weekly revealed that the “crisis” is actually Skye’s powers.

“In addition to coping with the physicality of her new gift, Coulson realizes Skye needs someone who can help her emotionally,” executive producer Jeffrey Bell said. That person will be Garner, a psychologist who has a history with S.H.I.E.L.D.

While Skye is working with the psychologist, her father Cal (Kyle MacLachlan) is launching an evil plan. After telling Raina to kill herself, he started plotting revenge against Coulson. He is “assembling a team of Super Villains to destroy S.H.I.E.L.D.,” according to the episode 13 synopsis. His team includes Karla Faye Gideon (Drea de Matteo), Wendell Levi (Ric Sarabia) and Francis Noche (Geo Corvera).

The promo video below gives audiences their first look at S.H.I.E.L.D.’s new enemies. It looks like they all have their own powers that can be used against the team. “I want everyone to know what you do to people like us,” Cal says to Coulson.
