“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” is teaming up with the government again. In the Season 3 spring premiere, the President (William Sadler) told Coulson (Clark Gregg) that they couldn’t publically reinstate his team, but they decided S.H.I.E.L.D. would secretly work above the ATCU. That means teaming up with a familiar face in episode 12 of the ABC drama.

Talbot (Adrian Pasdar) was named the new head of the ATCU. He and Coulson have always had a difficult relationship, so he likely won’t be happy about working with the S.H.I.E.L.D. director. They’ll have to get over their doubts fast though. They’re already going on a mission together.

“Coulson and General Talbot are forced to team up and attend a worldwide symposium on Inhumans, where they suspect Malick has an inside man,” the episode 12 synopsis reveals. It’s pretty easy to see why the episode is titled “The Inside Man.”

The team up won’t be all drama though. Executive producer Maurissa Tancharoen warned viewers that their team up will provide some comic relief. “They’ve always had an uneasy alliance,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “Now the fact that they are paired together by the president of the United States, they’re forced into this alliance. Not only will there be conflict, but it’s safe to assume there will be some humor as well.”

However, the inside man that they’re looking for won’t be funny at all. “As the S.H.I.E.L.D. team gets closer to the truth, an unexpected traitor is revealed,” the summary adds.

Meanwhile, the trailer reveals that Lincoln (Luke Mitchell) will be in the field, and he’ll go up against Carl “Crusher” Creel (Brian Patrick Wade). The Inhuman is shown using his electrical powers on the Absorbing Man, but May (Ming-Na Wen) seems to worry that he is going too far.
