“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” finally brought in some real aliens. The Kree landed in Season 3, episode 19, and they caused some serious trouble for both Hive and Coulson’s team. However, it’s the Inhumans who are causing the real problems. Daisy decided who she is loyal to on the ABC drama, while Lincoln made a reckless decision.

Episode 19 starts with Hive (Brett Dalton) explaining how he became Inhuman. A couple of Kree called Reapers used their alien DNA to change Hive into a hybrid. He tells a few surviving Hydra agents that they’re the first victims of the new experiment. Dr. Radcliffe’s (John Hannah) new Inhuman experiment doesn’t seem to be working, though. Their bodies literally melt on the table.

Hive nearly strangles Dr. Radcliffe over the failed experiment. The scientist is very excited to complete the experiment, but he needs real Kree DNA. Hive decides to keep Radcliffe around and brings out the artifact that he took from James’ (Axle Whitehead) trailer last week.

He isn’t the only scientist struggling. Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) and Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) are working on a cure for Hive’s mind control, but they’re not sure it’ll work. They need someone to test it on, and Lincoln (Luke Mitchell), who has been feeling useless, volunteers for the dangerous job. Simmons thinks Lincoln is being too reckless, but Fitz disagrees. Ultimately, Coulson (Clark Gregg) says it’s not an option.

Lincoln doesn’t follow instructions very well, though. He injects himself with the vaccine and his electrical powers go crazy. He passes out, and Simmons and Fitz try to take care of him.

While the science team works, Coulson finds Daisy (Chloe Bennet) on security footage in South Wyoming, but Daisy is the one who programmed the software that caught her. Coulson doesn’t understand how she got caught, and Mack (Henry Simmons) thinks Daisy wants to be saved. Coulson doesn’t have time to argue. They’re going in, but they aren’t rescuing Daisy. It’s a mission to kill Hive.

Mack feels responsible because he didn’t realize Daisy was under Hive’s influence. May (Ming-Na Wen) tells him that it isn’t his fault, and he needs to get his head in the game. They head out with a team of special agents.

Hive’s team is hanging out in a bar. Since Hive bought the town, it seems they’re the only patrons. James (Axle Whitehead), also known as Hellfire, asks Daisy how she could still be pining for Lincoln or anyone at S.H.I.E.L.D. She thinks that they’re trying to stop Hive because they don’t know better. She wants to make them understand.

When the S.H.I.E.L.D. team gets to town, James is the only one in the bar. May pretends to be a Hydra agent questioning him. James flirts with May and tells her that he can help her become an Inhuman. He even gives up Hive’s location before May knocks him out.

While James gives away Hive’s secrets, Hive wants to make sure Daisy’s priorities are in the right place. He tells her that she needs to be prepared to fight her former co-workers. Daisy wants to “save” them all. She wants to put them through the experiment. Hive asks her what will happen if they refuse to see reason and still try to kill him. Daisy makes her loyalties clear. “Then I would rip their hearts out,” Daisy says.

The team is on their way to what they think is Hive’s main base. Instead, they find the Kree artifact, and Coulson tells them to get out of there. Seconds after the agents run out, the Kree crash into the building from the sky.

Apparently, the blue aliens are the only things that can kill Hive, but he needs them. Hive orders Daisy to get blood from a living Kree, which will be difficult since they want the Inhumans dead.

Alisha (Alicia Vela-Bailey) gets killed by one of the Kree, and the S.H.I.E.L.D. team watches from afar. They don’t want to confront the alien. When they feel the earth shake, Mack wants to go after Daisy. May reminds him that those aren’t their orders, but he doesn’t listen.

Daisy fights another Kree in Radcliffe’s lab. She breaks his spine and then demands Radcliffe drain the blood. Mack shows up and says he is taking her home. Daisy says she is trying to save her friends. “We’re going to make you into an Inhuman,” she explains.

Daisy and Mack have a verbal fight that’s pretty hurtful. Daisy thinks Coulson only pulled her in because she had no one else. Mack assures her that S.H.I.E.L.D. cares about her. He shares his theory that she let herself get caught. “Something inside you is resisting,” Mack says.

Daisy denies it, and Mack can’t handle her insults anymore. He throws a splinter bomb at the Kree to disintegrate it. That makes Daisy start a physical fight, but Mack isn’t going to hit his partner. He sits there while Daisy beats him up.

Meanwhile, Hive fights the other blue alien in a church. May and the agents watch and hope that the Kree does their job for them. The Kree says Hive is “a failed experiment.”

That’s when Hive uses his powers to take the alien down. After the Kree dies, the S.H.I.E.L.D. team uses some major weaponry to kill Hive. He doesn’t even fall over. One weapon manages to take out his shoulder, but it grows back immediately. The team has to run away. They make an emergency exit, but not before saving Mack, who is in bad shape. May has to shoot Daisy in the arm to get her to back off.

“You were right,” Daisy admits to Hive. “Trust me, I’m finished with S.H.I.E.L.D.”

She reveals that she has Kree DNA from when Coulson used GH325 to help her survive being shot in Season 1. Daisy tells Radcliffe to drain her.

Simmons tells Lincoln what happened. Lincoln wants to be helping, but Simmons tells him that he can’t go anywhere. The anti-toxin isn’t working on him and they still don’t have a cure. He endangered his life for nothing.
