“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” fans are in the middle of a long winter hiatus, but luckily, they’ve been given a few more spoilers to help them get through the wait. The midseason premiere synopsis reveals what Coulson (Clark Gregg) and the gang will be up to when they return. As usual, they'll run into some dangerous forces of evil.

“In the aftermath of his trip to Maveth, Coulson is more determined than ever to get to Gideon Malick [Powers Boothe] and put an end to Hydra once and for all,” the synopsis, released exclusively by Entertainment Weekly, teases. That'll be tricky since Malick has exactly what he wants. At the end of episode 10, “It,” the powerful Inhuman that Ward (Brett Dalton) was sent to bring back from Maveth, possessed Ward’s body after Coulson killed the Hydra agent. That’ll likely make Coulson’s mission to stop Malick and Hydra last for not just episode 11, but the rest of the season.

Though “It” inhabits Ward’s corpse, don’t expect the Inhuman to successfully imitate the double agent. “It's not like Ward is dead,” Dalton told TVLine last month. “But that version of Ward that we hopefully fell in love with is no longer.”

Elsewhere in the winter premiere, which is titled “Bouncing Back,” new characters will be introduced. “Daisy [Chloe Bennet] and the team encounter more Inhumans who have powers like they’ve never seen before, but will they be friends or enemies of S.H.I.E.L.D.?” the synopsis asks.

As previously reported, one of those characters will likely be Yo-Yo Rodriguez/Slingshot (Natalia Cordova-Buckley). Since she ends up fighting alongside Daisy as a Secret Warrior in the comics, it seems like she’ll be a new ally. However, the synopsis says “Inhumans,” plural. Slingshot isn’t the only newly empowered person they’ll run into, and others might not be so friendly.

“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Season 3 returns Tuesday, March 8 at 9 p.m. EST on ABC.
