Air shows by the Blue Angels and other military aviation demonstration teams have been added to the growing list of programs that have fallen victim to the sequester. Due to the automatic spending cuts triggered by the sequester, neither the Air Force Thunderbirds nor the Navy Blue Angels will be able to fly fighter jets this season. The air shows are not the only victims of this cutback, since towns hosting these air shows rely on the influx of tourists and spectators for additional revenue that they will not be seeing this year. This news comes less than a week after the U.S. military also announced the cancellation of Fleet Week in New York, leaving even more spectators sorely disappointed.
