The former vice president and environmental campaigner Al Gore gave a clue about the launch of the new iPhones when he said that they will be coming in October.

Gore has been an Apple board member for more than eight years, and this is the first time it is seen that he has let slip even the slightest detail on an upcoming product.

While speaking at the Discovery Invest Leadership Summit in South Africa, Gore threw in the following digression into his speech: “Not to mention the new iPhones coming out next month. That was a plug.”

This could be the confirmation that Apple will be selling multiple iPhones next month.

The comments also add to the increased rumor that the company would release two iPhone models next month. One would be a completely redesigned iPhone 5, while the other would be a budget iPhone 4S that looks like the current iPhone 4.

It is at the same time possible that Gore could have been referring to the different kinds of new iPhone, which can differ on color or memory size.

This could even be another marketing strategy of Apple. The company has so far remained silent about the iPhone 5 as the rumors fly.
