Friday, Albania's Institute of Statistics said in a report that the consumer price index or CPI rose 1.9% year-over-year in April, larger than the 1.6% increase in the previous month. A year ago, the CPI was up 4.4%.
In April, food and non-alcoholic beverages prices increased 4.2% annually, while clothing and footwear prices dropped 2.9%. Transport charges were down 0.7%.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices dropped 0.1% in April, after rising 0.6% in March.
