RTTNews - Monday, Albania's Institute of Statistics said in a report that the consumer price index or CPI rose 2.1% year-over-year in May, faster than the 1.9% increase in the previous month. A year earlier, consumer prices had grown 4.2%.

Food and non-alcoholic beverages prices increased 5% annually in May, larger than the 4.2% growth in April. At the same time, clothing and footwear prices dropped 2.6%, while transport charges were down 2.1%.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices dropped 0.8% in May, after falling 0.1% in April.
