Telecoms equipment maker Alcatel-Lucent on Friday posted first-quarter revenues of 3.74 billion euros ($5.23 billion) and adjusted operating profit of 13 million.

The Franco-American company, which competes with market leader Sweden's Ericsson and China's Huawei , also confirmed its 2011 goals to grow faster than the overall market and reach an operating margin of 5 percent or more.

The revenue was in line with a Reuters poll of 15 analysts, who forecast revenues of 3.75 billion euros.

Analysts had expected an adjusted operating profit of 27 million euros.
