You should know that when someone steps on Alec Baldwin's toes, he doesn't let up easy.
Alec Baldwin appeared in a cameo on Saturday Night Live (SNL) this past Saturday to address a recent incident where he was kicked off a plane for refusing to turn off his cell phone, and quit his Words with Friends game.
Baldwin impersonated and donned a mustache and pilot attire as Captain Steve Rogers, the pilot of the American Airlines flight he was booted from.
It was awful Seth, Baldwin dressed as Rogers told Seth Meyers during the SNL Weekend Update skit. Which is why it was important for me to come tonight here and, on behalf of everyone at American Airlines, issue an apology to Mr. Alec Baldwin!
Alec, are you sure this is the right way to handle this? Meyers said in an aside, to which Baldwin plainly whispered, Yeah, keep going.
So let me get this straight. You, Captain Rogers, want to apologize to Alec Baldwin? Meyers said, pointing out the obvious joke.
Baldwin responded by tooting his own horn, not an uncommon happening for the 30 Rock star. (Perhaps he was channeling Jack Donaghy?)
Mr. Baldwin is an American treasure, and I am ashamed at the way he was treated, he said.
Baldwin took more time to embrace his own opinion, saying Words with Friends is a game for smart people and mentioned how passengers should be allowed to use electronic devices on airplanes.
Would you really get on an airplane that flew 30,000 feet in the air if you thought one Kindle switch could take it down? Baldwin said. Come on! It's just a cruel joke perpetrated by the airline industry.
Baldwin also addressed the incident which caused the American Airlines flight to be delayed and the state of the company, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last month to improve competitiveness.
We're bankrupt! How dare we speak ill of the great Alec Baldwin and we can't even take off on time?
