Hairdressers from all over the world showcased their artistry and their interpretation of the evening's theme Illusion, at the Alternative Hair Show held Monday at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

The show, in its 29th year, also embraced talented new hairdressers from across the world, with the International Visionary Award. The youngsters were given an opportunity to showcase their talent.

For the first time this year, the event also presented AIPP (Association Internationale Presse Professionnelle Coiffure) Awards, for which more than 400 entries from 21 countries were received.

Launched in 1983 by Tony Rizzo, the show is also aimed at raising funds for leukemia research.

Many international hairdressers display, at their own cost, their incredible creations at the show every year to support Rizzo and help raising ever more welcome funds for charities across the world.

Rizzo has already raised a staggering £8 million over the last 28 years and added another £190,600 this year, for various deserving causes and to help support people suffering from leukemia and lymphoma.
