A judge on Friday shut down troubled actress Amanda Bynes parents' request to grant them temporary conservatorship, stating that he would rule on the case after a one-on-one with Bynes, reports said.

Judge Glen Reiser said that he wanted to take his time in reviewing the case as it was not an emergency. "This is not a case where there's an emergency right now, and because conservatorships of the person and estate involve liberty and property interests, there are a lot of t's we need to cross and i's we need to dot," he said, according to the New York Daily News.

Bynes is currently on a two-week psychiatric hold, during which doctors will evaluate her mental health. The 27-year-old was admitted to the mental health facility after she started a fire in the driveway of a house in Thousand Oaks, Calif., on Monday.

Bynes’ parents -- Rick and Lynn Bynes -- filed the petition on Friday, and the hearing was set for Aug. 9. The filing was made public after the Friday hearing, where the troubled actress’ parents sought to make Bynes’ mother her sole conservator.

“We are deeply concerned that Amanda poses a substantial risk to herself, to others and to property based on recent events in her life," the petition said, according to the Daily News.

Her parents said that Bynes had been squandering her savings, and she is essentially homeless now. Reportedly, Bynes’ savings total $4 million, but she has spent nearly $1.2 million in a "very short amount of time," to fund her drug dependency.

“We are informed and believe that a substantial amount of this money is being used to pay for marijuana," he parents said.

According to the filing, Bynes is “extremely paranoid,” and she constantly covered the smoke alarms and other electronic items at her home with towels, fearing she was under constant surveillance. The Bynes’ also shed light on their daughter’s issues with her body image, saying that this might be one reason why she calls everyone, including family members, ugly.
