The cast of Season 29 of “The Amazing Race” is made up of complete strangers who will meet at the starting line, and that twist is giving them all reasons to feel a bit wary—especially contestant Scott Flanary.

Scott is one of the 22 new cast members who will race for $1 million in the 2017 season. In a pre-race interview with CBS, he revealed that he isn’t entirely sure how he feels about the new twist, which involves picking a partner at the starting line, but he does have some criteria when it comes to who he pairs up with.

“I don’t know how I feel about this stranger twist,” he said. “The ideal partner has to be, like me, the complete package. You have to be smart, you have to be physical, you have to be social. And I’m looking for somebody to really compliment my traits, rather than me bring up one of theirs or they bring up one of mine.”

He also revealed why a partner that knows how to be social is perhaps the most important thing to him, because good social skills are the quality he values most.

“I could not have someone who is socially awkward, because we have to build a lot of quality relationships quickly,” he said. “Not only with other teams so we can build alliances when necessary and then drop them when we don’t need them, but also so we can build relationships with people along the race who are going to point us in the right direction, help us get where we need to go.”

However, despite his also being pretty confident about himself when it comes to his ability to win the race, he does admit he has one flaw, which he hopes his partner can pick up the slack for.

“The worst challenge ever on the race for me was when, I think it was a final three, they had to walk face-down in Las Vegas down one of the hotel resorts,” he said. “I can’t fathom anything that deals with heights or falling, that’s my downside. Hopefully my partner will do those tasks for us.”

“The Amazing Race” Season 29 premieres Thursday, March 30 at 9 p.m. on CBS.
