Amazon is onto its third pilot season. Starting August 28, the streaming service will release five pilots of potential new shows for the public to view. Customers will be able to watch the episodes for free and provide feedback on whether they would like to see them turned into a full series.

The second pilot season for Amazon aired this past April. Customers helped green light six series for the streaming service – “Transparent, “Mozart in the Jungle,” “Bosch,” “The After,” “Gortimer Gibbon’s Life on Normal Street” and “Wishenproof!”

Due to the successful customer feedback, the streaming service is hoping to advance its development process for more potential Prime Instant Video series.

“We are delighted to bring Amazon customers new shows from some of Hollywood’s most talented actors and creators,” Roy Price, Director of Amazon Studios, said in a press release. “There is something for everyone in this season and I can’t wait to hear our customers’ feedback when they premiere later this month.”

Get the scoop on the five new Prime pilots before they are available for streaming on August 28:

“The Cosmopolitans”

“The Cosmopolians” is a romantic comedy starring Adam Body (“The O.C.”) and Chloë Sevigny (“American Horror Story”) and relative newcomers Carrie MacLemore, Dree Hemingway, Freddy Åsblom, Jordan Rountree and Adriano Giannini. Written, directed and produced by Academy Award nominee Whit Stillman, “The Cosmopolitans is about “a group of young American expatriates in contemporary Paris searching for love and friendship in a foreign city.”

“Hand of God”

From Marc Foster, the filmmaker behind “Monster’s Ball,” Finding Neverland” and “World War Z,” is “Hand of God.” Teaming up with writer Ben Watkins, the new drama stars “Sons of Anarchy” alum Ron Perlman. The show is about a powerful judge (Perlman), who is a “hard-living, law-bending married man with a high-end call girl on the side.” The series follows Perlman’s character as he suffers a mental breakdown “and goes on a vigilante quest to find the rapist who tore his family part.” It’s though his ventilator-bound son that he gets messages and visions that he believes “are being sent by God.”

“Hysteria”

Social media takes on a frightening role in this new psychological thriller by Shaun Cassidy and Otto Bathurst. “Hysteria” stars Mena Suvari of “American Pie” as a neurologist struggling with inner demons from a tragic past and brother on death row. She returns to her hometown of Austin, Texas where a competitive dance team has become stricken with a “strange, psycho-physical illness that manifests itself in violet fits and spasms and then begins spreading in the community through technology.” It’s up to Suvari’s character, Logan Harlen, to investigate the case and figure out its link to social media.

“Hysteria” also stars James McDaniel (“Orange Is The New Black”), Josh Stewart (“The Dark Knight Rises”), Adan Canto (“X-Men: Days of Future Past”), Laura San Giacomo (“Saving Grace”) and T.R. Knight (“Grey’s Anatomy”).

“Really”

Directed by Jay Chandrasekhar, the man behind “Super Troopers” and “Beer Fest,” “Really” is a romantic comedy about four couples living in suburban Chicago “trying to grasp on-to their dwindling youth.” The pilot stars Chandrasekhar as Jed and “Scrubs” alum Sarah Chalke as Lori, a “messily married” couple.

“Red Oaks”

David Gordon Green, the director of “Pineapple Express” and “Eastbound and Down,” and Steven Soderbergh, the producer of “Behind the Candelabra” and “Ocean’s Eleven,” teamed up for “Red Oaks.” The show is set in suburban New Jersey in 1985 and follows David Myers, an assistant tennis pro at the Red Oaks Country Club. It’s a coming of age tale with a colorful crew of “misfit co-workers and wealthy club members.”

Streaming is available on numerous platforms. Viewers can watch through the Amazon Instant Video app on Fire TV, Kindle Fire tablets, Fire phone, iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, Roku, Xbox, PlayStation, Wii or any other internet connected smart device. The pilots will also be available on Amazon.com/AIV for those using computers.
