Now, included in your yearly payment of $99, members get free access to 1,000 digital books and popular magazines.including The Hobbit, Harry Potter, The Man In the High Castle, and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Amazon Prime Reading also comes with magazines including National Geographic Traveler, Popular Mechanics, Runner’s World and Sports Illustrated.
Comic fans will find selections like the first volumes of The Complete Peanuts and Transformers: Robots in Disguise.
The service is available on the Kindle, Fire tablet, as well as the Kindle app on iOS and Android. Prime members will also have access to the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library, which allows them to borrow one book from the Kindle catalog. Unlike Prime Reading, the Lending Library is only available on Kindle and Fire devices.
It will be interesting to see if Amazon will bring some copies from its subsidiary ComiXology. The company has been working on digital series and graphic novels, which will cost between $3.99 and $9.99 but won’t be available until the end of this month.
