2. The Storyline

Even though many people believe the anthology series will be about the 2016 presidential election, Season 7 showrunner Ryan Murphy revealed that it is just “a jumping off point.” The show will kick off following the results of the election, and the story will unfold from there. “American Horror Story: Cult” will also be a lot more realistic compared to other seasons with “an element of humor and satire in it.”

“The thing about this season is that it’s much more grounded. You’re with this family; you’re with the rise of somebody who seems very dangerous; you’re in Michigan,” Murphy previously said.

“Everything seems a little pulled back,” he added.

3. There Will Be A Love Triangle Or Some Kind Of Twisted Affair

In July, Murphy shared an Instagram post of Paulson and Peter’s characters. “Ally and Kai in CULT...a love story for the ages,” he wrote. However, when character descriptions were released, it was revealed that Paulson’s Ally is already married to Pill’s Ivy. Murphy later shared a photo of Kai, Ally, Ivy, Winter and the married couple’s son. “Family,” he captioned the picture.

4. There Will Be An Episode Dedicated To Female Rage

Dunham, who was tapped to play Valerie, will have an impactful appearance on the series when one episode focuses on the power of a woman’s emotions, according to Entertainment Weekly. “Lena Dunham is playing Valerie Solanas, who attempted to shoot Andy Warhol because she felt denied the cult of personality that was Warhol and the Factory at the time,” Murphy explained.

5. Clowns Will Be A Recurring Theme

In one of the promos released for the series, Ally is seen in Dr. Vincent’s office, telling him that her Coulrophobia (a specific fear of clowns) is getting worse and she is seeing them everywhere. Winter is seen gifting Ally’s son with a clown doll, and clowns later enter Ally’s home. When she attempts to flee her house with her son, Ally is greeted by a clown and her fate is left unknown.

Be sure to catch all the madness unfold when “American Horror Story: Cult” premieres Tuesday on FX.
