The premiere of “American Horror Story: Coven” may still be a few months away, but fans of the FX mini-series are slowly inching forward. With filming set to begin in New Orleans this week, we’ve got our hands on some new characters who will appear in the third season.
The casting news comes courtesy of SpoilerTV.com. According to the site, the spooky drama is looking to cast three recurring roles:
Carter: Carter is in his 20’s and described as a “small town hunk.”
Gwen: Gwen is already being played by “American Horror Story” alum Jessica Lange, but the show is looking to cast a 20-year-old version of her character.
Ruth: Ruth is being played by “American Horror Story’s” Frances Conroy, but the series is looking to cast a red-haired 20-year-old version of the character.
Character names for the series have been leaked for the past few months, but “American Horror Story” co-creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk have generally kept quiet regarding which actors will be portraying the roles. Carter: A 20-something-year-old “small-town hunk.”
Dr. David Zhong: A doctor who has been doing research on a youth serum called RM-47.
Gwen: Jessica Lange’s character, to be featured in the present day and an earlier period.
Hank: A handsome blue-collar worker in his 30s who is the husband of one of “the witchy women.”
Madison: Emma Roberts will be playing a “young and sexy Hollywood-actress type” girl who loves to party.
Maude: A wealthy and demanding widow whose late husband helped fund research for a mysterious serum called RM-47.
Ruth: Frances Conroy’s character, also to be featured in the present day and an earlier period.
Theodore: A 60-year-old man “often subject to nagging.”
