“American Horror Story: Coven” premieres Oct. 9. FX/American Horror Story

“American Horror Story” is at it again. The FX mini-series has released its third teaser trailer for season three, “Coven,” and it is just as spooky as the others.

The third video was posted on the “American Horror Story” Facebook page on Thursday. Titled “Staircase,” the caption for the promo teases: “Misbehave and incur our kind of suspension.”

At 18 seconds, the video mirrors the first trailer, “Detention,” in which a chilling female voice sings “House of the Rising Sun.” While “Detention” shows eight girls facing the wall and floating in the air, “Staircase” just features a single girl, dressed in black, levitating upside down on a staircase.

This isn’t the first time “American Horror Story” has used a staircase in a tease promos. The fifth video for season two, “Asylum,” also featured a “spooky staircase.” Titled “Ascend,” the promo showed a nun in white walking up a set of stairs. As the nun walked up, a patient crawled down the stairs on the flip side of the staircase.

“American Horror Story: Coven” now has a total of three teaser videos released -- “Detention,” “Pins And Needles” and “Staircase.” The third season is set to pit Salem, Mass., witches against voodoo witches in New Orleans. With the second promo, “Pins and Needles,” mimicking the puncture of voodoo dolls with needles, fans can assume that the next video will tease the voodoo witch side rather than Salem.

“American Horror Story” will premiere its third season on Oct. 9. Returning cast members include Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy, Evan Peters, Taissa Farmiga, Jamie Brewer, Denis O’Hare and Alexandra Breckenridge. Newcomers to the series are Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Gabourey Sidibe, Emma Roberts and Patti LuPone.
